Date, mint mark, grade, strike quality, surface preservation, and whether the coin has been cleaned or altered. A 1921 Morgan dollar and a 1921-S Morgan dollar can have very different values — and that difference comes down to one small letter on the coin.

Karat marking, actual tested metal content, weight, stone presence and quality, and whether the piece has any maker's marks or designer significance.

Is the evaluation really free?

Yes. We charge nothing for evaluations. Our offer is how we make money, not the evaluation itself. You will never be charged a fee simply for bringing your items in.

Do I need an appointment?

For large collections or estates, booking an appointment ensures we have enough time to evaluate everything properly and give each item the attention it deserves.

How long does an evaluation take?

A single piece takes 5–10 minutes. A full estate collection may take 1–2 hours. We never rush the process — a thorough evaluation benefits everyone and ensures you receive an accurate, fair offer.

What should I bring?

Bring the items as you found them. Do not clean coins — cleaning reduces their value significantly. Original packaging, receipts, or certificates are helpful but not required. We evaluate based on what we see, not on documentation alone.

How do you determine value?

We check live spot prices for precious metals content, reference current numismatic price guides for collector value, and apply our knowledge of the current buyer market. We explain our reasoning so you always understand exactly how we arrived at our offer.

Do you provide written evaluations?

We provide verbal evaluations at no charge. Written evaluations for insurance or estate purposes are available for a fee. Contact us to discuss your specific needs and we can advise on the right option for your situation.

How is your evaluation different from an insurance evaluation?

An insurance evaluation sets replacement value — what it would cost to buy the same item at retail today. That number is intentionally high and has no relationship to what a dealer will pay. Our evaluation tells you the actual current market value and what we can offer you for the piece today. They serve completely different purposes.
